>I’ve just tried a MagicTan for the first time. I was given a gift certificate to the Ambiance Day Spa and I’d decided to try out this popular tanning alternative. I figured what better time than while I’m on vacation. It’s a unique smell that thankfully is barely there once you’re done. It sprays a combination of bronzer and tanner, so even though I can already see a bit of colour right now, it should darken as the day goes on.
>I headed up with Jay to Patrick and Sharon’s wedding in Grand Falls this weekend. It was a lovely ceremony and reception. They were staying at a lodge on a lake that was pretty cool.
Updates may be spordic at best as I’m on vacation and have been busy alternately doing errands and trying to remember how to be lazy.
If you could have a free subscription to any magazine, which one would you like to have?
Describe your living room (furnishings, colors, etc.).
My living room has a ton of stuff in it. it is full from wall-to-wall with book cases and shevling units. At the far end, I have my computer desk and drafting table and art supply cabinet. The bookshelves are in a variety of light wood tones. They are full of books, movies and mmiscellanious items. For seating, I’ve got a gold lazyboy and a futon that has arms that are prairie-style. My coffee table is curved dark wood with a glass top and is very modern-looking. I have a lot of artwork on the walls – most of it is my own. Essentially every spare scrap of space is used in that room. It isn’t clutterd but it is cozy.
What does the shape of a circle make you think of?
Name 3 things in your life that you consider to be absolute necessities.
Food, sleep, shelter.
What was the last really funny movie you watched?
Noises Off. I’ll be playing the part of “Belinda/Flavia” in the stage production at the Imperial Theatre in November, and I’d never seen the movie. My friends had it and invited me over to watch it recently. Only a couple more weeks until we start rehearsals….
>I went for a run with Anthony and then got home in time for a quick shower and bite to eat before Scott and Mare came over. Scott did a great job fixing up my Mac (thanks again!! – yay it rocks now!) while Mare and I watched a bit of RockStar: Supernova then played a bit of Animal Crossing.
Tonight I have a logo design to do for a friend. Now that my home computer is A-OK, I should be able to whip that off in a few hours. Have I mentioned lately that I’m looking forward to my upcoming vacation?
>I’ve started counting down days and hours to my upcoming vacation.
Thank you Mare – I ate all of those amazingly tasty Anise Drops while on a long conference call yesterday. Yes. All of them.
I’ve been enjoying spending a bit more time at home, hanging with the cats. They are cuddly once again.
Still very excited about Noises Off.
A nap would be lovely right about now.
Work is busy. Once again, I’m looking forward to a little time off.
My parents had given me a couple of roasts that they had picked up from Costco. Last night I invited John and Melanie over for dinner and had decided to make one of the roasts. They come all set to just put in the oven as is. They are pork and chicken wrapped in bacon with provincial herbs. Anyway – dang tasty and easy to make!
Did I mention that I’m looking forwad to a vacation?
>After meeting Lisa and Anthony at the gym, I headed home to do a quick tidy before Ann came over. We watched Layer Cake which was pretty good. Lots to keep you guessing. It starred that blonde fellow who’s going to be the new Bond. I think he’ll make a good Bond. I’m looking forward to Casino Royale when it comes out in November.
Friday night was the last night of the one-act plays. The guys were really on that night and we had a pretty good crowd. After the show, we packed up our stuff and moved the uber-heavy bench back to the loft. I decided to step out and grab one quick celebratory small draft with the guys before heading out to Kizzys. Turns out, by the time I got to her place, things were winding down, so I wasn’t there for long. Still though, I’m glad I dropped out.
Saturday was errand day which resulted in a much -needed nap by the end of it. I woke up just in time to run over to the NB Museum to catch the Winging It portion of Theatre on the Edge. It was very entertaining! I hope we get more peope out to it next year! After that we had our cast party, which was somewhat mellow. I left early (2 AM) as I was pretty tired.
Sunday was a wonderfully lazy day. I did a tiny bit of tidying and spent the afternoon watching An Evening with Kevin Smith which was awesome. I then gamed for about an hour, then played with the cats, then re-read Noises Off. It was a great day. It’s awesome to have a bit of free time again!
What color is your car?
“Indigo Ink” (navy blue with metallic flecks in the paint)
If you could wake up tomorrow with full training in another occupation and a job in that field, what would it be?
International translator. It would be great to instantly know a number of other languages.
How many times in your life have you had the flu (or something similar)?
Too many times to count. At least a couple of times per year.
What is something that has happened to you this week that you didn’t expect?
I bought a quart of blueberries that I hadn’t planned on getting. Otherwise my week has been pretty much on track with what I expected.
How old were you when you had your first kiss?
Ah yes – the good old first kiss question. I was in grade 7 and there was a boy who liked me who was in grade 8 who wanted to kiss me but he was really really nervous. So, he ran around the exterior of my house at least a dozen times then gave me a quick peck and then ran home and would never talk to me again. My first “real” kiss would have been near the end of grade 10 for me. I was 15.
>Within a couple of short weeks, I’ll be heading on a fun vacation with Jay and Lisa Miller. We’re going to go check out the Maryland Renaissance Festival, and spend a day touring Washington DC. Yay! I can’t wait!!
>Last night, after spending a long while trying to get the sound working again, we finally ran a quick tech and then got down to running a dress rehearsal. I’m glad that we open tonight – I can’t wait to see the shows run with the energy of an audience!
