>Weekend Update

>After work on Friday, I finally got a chance to get out and check out the karaoke that Lisa has been hosting at the Somerset. I headed over with Beth and neither of us got up to sing anything. Saturday I ran a few errands, went to the gym, then did a bit of cleaning (I needed to clean out my art supply shelving unit in my living room so I could make room for soem other items – talk about a big job – I felt like I barely made a dent.) That evening Julie A was having a house party in Grand Bay. I was going to give Lisa and Anthony a lift out but Lisa’s grandfather took a turn for the worse and was in the hospital so they had to head out there instead (Lisa, I hope everything is OK.) I headed out on my own and wound up catching up for a bit with Michelle, BT and Ryan (happy belated b-day by the way, Ryan!) then I left early. I was starting to fade after having had a pretty full day. I was up around 7:00 on Sunday morning and got straight to work on cleaning out my art supply shelving unit. I managed to get rid of a few large bags of garbage – just stuff that I don’t need anymore. I managed to make room for some new stuff – like scrapbooking items and scripts. I finished around 4:30 PM and now my living room sparkles! Part of my motivation was the fact that I have relatives coming to stay later this week. Sunday evening I went for dinner with Beth at Swiss Chalet and then we went to see Monster in Law. Man, that was a funny movie – much better than I’d expected! I think I needed a bit of silly for my weekend. :-) I got home around 9-ish and got to work on the list of necessary makeup items for Julius Caesar. While I was working on that, I put G.I. Jane on in the background. Love that movie.

Oh yeah, and congrats to Joanna on running a personal best on her leg in the Cabot Trail Relay!

>TGIF – Again :-)

>I had a tasty traditional burger at Churchills last night as I hung out with Lisa, Anthony, Micah, Mike and Mike. It was good to get out for a bit and relax. I had planned to do dinner with Joanna and Colin at the new sushi place on Waterloo Street, but our plans fell through and we decided to reincheck. It was good timing on Anthony’s behalf as he invited me to meet up with them at Churchills about 5 minutes later!

Later that evening, I actually managed to get a bit more cleaning done around my apartment. I had started cleaning out a closet and a stack of papers earlier this week but I’d only gotten half way through it. It felt good to finally get things cleaned up. I’m all done with my room, but I still have a stack of papers (albeit a much smaller one) to finish sorting. At least that is currently tidied up enough I can leave it for a bit while I work on other things. I’ve been trying to get a few things cleaned out before my aunt and uncle come to visit next week.

I’m glad it’s almost the weekend. I’ve been looking forward to it. I have a fair amount on my list of things to do, but thankfully half of the list are social activities!

>No more rain please.

>There isn’t too much going on that’s terribly new around here. Last night was our second class for the Scene Study Workshop, and that went fairly well. A few of us stopped in at Churchills for a drink afterwards and didn’t stay too long. I have a bit of a cold (thank goodness for cold medications!) so I probably should have just gone home and gone to bed. But still, I was glad to get out and socialize for a bit.

>A Rather quiet night….

>I gave Anthony a lift out to Futureshop so he could pick up his new fancy lightsaber, then I headed home to do my scene study homework. I hit the hay early because I was starting to come down with a bit of a cold. I am already feeling better today!

>Tuesday is Chooseday

>Would you rather:

1.) spend 76 hours at a rave OR at a work/education conference?
I would much rather spend 76 hours at a conference and learn something from it. Besides, I have a hard time with crowds and anything really loud. I’ve never been interested in checking out a rave in the first place.

2.) star in your own sitcom that only lasts one season OR star in one hit movie?
Hmm… good question. I think I’d go for the hit movie. I’m guessing less time spent filming for a larger paycheque.

3.) drive a winnebago everywhere for a month OR drive a scooter?
I’ll take the scooter – less cost for gas and easier to park. Since the weather is warming up, it would be fun to drive!

4.) drink a shot of laundry detergent OR a glass full of white vinegar?
Uh- how toxic is laundry detergent? I’ll take the vinegar, thanks. Of course, it helps that I like vinegar in the first place.

>Long Weekend Update

>I hung out with Colin and Joanna a bit over the weekend. Thanks again for the wonderful dinner, Joanna! Joanna and I stopped in at Beth’s on Saturday night and met her visiting parents and a few of her friends from Hampton. Then we went for a nice dinner at D’Amico’s then to the Imperial to see The Sunshine Boys. After the show, I popped in at the cast party for a short time. I’d really enjoed the show. I cleaned out my kitchen cupboards and fridge, scrubbed the kitchen floor then polished it, cleaned the washroom, started cleaning out a bedroom closet and got about half way through sorting through another pile of stuff that had been growing since last year. Oh, and I saw Revenge of the Sith for a second time, even though I could barely stay awake through it. All in all, I could have used another day off – so I could finish sorting through stuff and get my apartment clean again. At least it’s a short work week!

>Friday Feast #48

>Appetizer:
Approximately how many hours per day do you spend watching television?
Maybe an hour. therre are lots of days I don’t watch any TV. I prefer to watch movies on DVD. I get too impatient for commercials. Also, there aren’t too many shows that I really like. (Did anyone else catch CSI last night? It was gripping!!)

Soup:
Which colors decorate your kitchen?
My kitchen floor consists of deep red and cream tiles. I’ve painted the walls and cabinets in “Pittsfield Bluff” from the Historical Colours collection at Benjamin Moore. It perfectly matches the cream tiles and the counter.

Salad:
Name 2 brand names you buy on a regular basis, and what do you like about them?
(This one sounds like the 10 brands from earlier this week, so like Jenn, I’ll pick other ones.)
- Toyota: I’m on a roll. My first car was an Echo and my current vehicle is a Matrix. Does that count as regular purchases?
- RW & Co.: I’ll even drive to Moncton for my fix.

Main Course:
What is your biggest fear?
Living for years in excruciating pain.

Dessert:
If you could wake up tomorrow and find yourself in another location, where would you want to be?
Minas Tirith. LOL. No, seriously, uh – maybe somewhere warm and exotic, like Bora Bora, or Greece – or back to Andalucia – or Morocco…. (I could use some sun and heat – I’m getting tired of the rain and chilly winds.)

Bonus Birthday Question:
What’s your favorite flavor of birthday cake?
Black Forest? Chocolate? Oh – that one that Suzy made for the last dinner party was pretty awesome! When I was a kid I liked cherry cheese cake. Now I’m happy with pretty much any cake as long as it’s lactose-free.

>Almost Incapacitating

>Lately I’ve had a fairly large list of things to do and that has left me feeling a bit overwhelmed. Most of the time I have no problem ploughing through things and I like to keep busy but lately I’ve been feeling like I should take a break (even if I feel bad for not having an uber-productive evening or two) and I haven’t wanted to do a darn thing. Unfortunately that includes energy to cook proper meals, get to the gym or even stay in touch with friends. I get tired of planning and booking my time and just want to stay in and veg. I feel like I’m being pulled in a thousand directions (even if most of the pulling is from my very own list of things to do.) Thankfully I’ve at least been keeping up with eating decently. So my apologies to my friends I haven’t been keeping in touch with lately. I think I’ll allow myself a bit more time to relax and then I should prioritize my list and just start working on things one at a time. And as for hanging out with friends, I know I have a couple of things booked over the next little while, but for the most part I would prefer to go with the flow. And hopefully that way I’ll be able to catch up with y’all.

On a side note, I’ve also been looking for some nice pointy-toed pumps in bright colours but I’ve been having trouble finding anything decent in this sity. I may have to wait ’till I go to Toronto. Sigh. It’s tough living in a small city when you get somethng in your head but can’t find it around here. Shoes aren’t the kind of thing I like to shop for online, since I like to make sure they are comfortable before I purchase them (and before you ask, I have found pointy toed heels that are comfortable!)(/em end rant)

>Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

>I went to the midnight showing last night and I really enjoyed it. It was much better than the last 2. It’s worth seeing in the theatre because there is a lot to take in. Guess I’ll need a nap at lunch today….
